the 911 part I said was interviews with senators and such who stated they did not get a chance to read it
Do you think the people who vote for bills without reading them should remain in power? Would it surprise you to learn that most of our Congressmen DON'T read the bills they vote on?
You said the Patriot Act:
took away to many rights, and gave the government to broad of powers to me.
Yet you cannot name one single right that it violates that wasn't being violated in secret by other programs or departments and you can't name a single power granted to government that wasn't already there in secret programs. What I like most about the Patriot Act is that it put all the secret violations of our civil rights into the public AND it has far more oversight than the previous programs AND, most importantly, the Pat Act has a sunset clause.
Where did you get the idea it took away too many rights and gave the government too broad of power? Perhaps you got that impression from the movie... after all, that was the point of Micheal Moores film, to make you believe what he wants you to believe. Having him behind the camera does make a difference, having him edit the film does make a difference... Just like Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth.
tey had to pay health care if I got full time.
Who do you suppose FORCES employers to provide healthcare for full time employees? It used to be a "Perk" and was not mandatory.... We also used to have catastrophic care insurance available... Why do you think that has disappeared?
the government health care plan, that already exists, being open to others, is taht everyone one will want it then ask yourself why do they want it?
Cuz their selfish and ignorant. The government health care plan, the one that already exists - is totally bankrupt and operates with an ever increasing deficit. Why do you think its so much cheaper? They are subsidizing the cost by pushing the debt onto generations not yet born...
If a company could maintain ANY profit margin and undercut their competition to be similar in cost to the Government programs - all companies would have to follow suit or be put out of business.
I believe the leading cause of people filing bankruptcy is health care cost.
Go find the statistics about bankruptcy and let me know what the "facts" say.
If they where in any other nation even half way civilized, they would not have to pay those costs. its just one more reason to move offshore and lose American jobs.
I agree... Thats why I think its totally irresponsible for Government to Mandate that employers provide insurance to full time employees... the "unintended" consequence is, of course, that now they look for more part time employees... Our Government does a great deal thats not at all business friendly.
And like it or not, your paying for health care for people anyway, you just are paying the huge cost of what happens when people dont get early treatment at a huge inflated price.
There is NOTHING about Universal HC that will make people STOP being lazy and irresponsible... Unless of course they legislate mandatory visits, the Government forcing people to take care of themselves and creating the Rationing that goes on in the rest of the "civilized" world.
no one is going to tell me this is a good system.
Its not "good", and its not perfect, its just better than what you would get from universal healthcare... Having Government get MORE involved would be the exact opposite of my solution, but I hope you get exactly what you wish for.
You also have not addressed one of the biggest reasons for outlandish costs in Healthcare... Lawsuits. What knowledge do you have about this problem and what has Obama or the Democrats proposed to solve this problem? (Nothing, Trial lawyers, like John Edwards, are one of the biggest lobbies in the DNC - their very own special interest group)
