Continued dependence on petroleum will render this planet harder to survive in. And we are also using petroleum to manufacture huge amounts of plastics that we cannot reprocess or recycle. The current economy is not sustainable. Cars replaced horses because cars only required fuel when they were used, and horses had to be constantly fed and of course, cars do not crap constantly. Replacing petroleum technology with sustainable energy is as necessary now as replacing horses, mules and oxen with cars and trucks in the early 1900's.

Businesses are considered unsuccessful if they do not grow constantly. This requires for the population to grow constantly. However this is undeniably impossible as many raw materials are not sustainable, and there are nor sufficient means to feed a constantly growing population. Presently developed nations have ceased to grow their populations. The US population also is growing only because of immigration from poorer countries.

So we should be trying to REPLACE the use of petroleum as fuel for transportation and indoor heating and cooling with renewable methods, such as geothermal, wind, solar, tidal, and Thorium nuclear reactors as soon as we can do so.

It is half-witted to allow Big Oil, Big Coal, and Big Gas to dominate our countries' government, which is what we are doing.

The additional oil that the US is pumping is NOT being used in the US, it is being exported. US refineries are set up for West Texas crude and oil from the Saudis and the UAE. The US should give no tax breaks to oil companies, and it should encourage the development of Thorium nuclear reactors, because they do not have many radioactive byproducts, and the US has LOTS of Thorium. Also, wind, tidal, geothermal and solar power should be encouraged.

Neither Biden nor I have any ability to do anything at present. Big Oil is trying to maximize its profits and Shitshizpants is happy to see them dominate our country.
