So the lawmakers themselves are ridiculous but the laws they make are not?lawmakers are ridiculous which was what the post in question spoke to.
Such laws are superfluous and encroach on our rights.this law upon further examination seems aimed at interaction between vehicles and people texting or other activities that prevent them from being aware of their surroundings.
Huh?just walking down the sidewalk is just a matter of rudeness.
The Texting "ban" they are trying to pass here in Ohio is designed as a "secondary" offense, meaning that you have to be pulled over and/or be ticketed for a primary offense before a citation for texting can be issued. So if this law passes, it will not be illegal to text while driving but you can be cited for texting while driving IF you break some other law in the process. While such laws are sold to the public as an effort to keep the roads safe, in reality such laws are nothing more than PR stunts with the added bonus of revenue enhancement.
