Current NATO plans involve US troops landing in ports in the Netherlands and then transported through Germany to Poland, but the alliance is looking to expand the potential routes for US troops to reach the borders of Russia and Ukraine.

Officials told The Telegraph that they want US troops to be able to travel through five different corridors:
  1. Landing in the Netherlands and traveling through Germany to reach Poland
  2. Landing in Italy to travel through Slovenia and Slovakia to reach Hungary
  3. Landing in Greece to travel through Bulgaria to reach Romania
  4. Landing in Turkey to travel through Bulgaria to reach Romania
  5. Landing in Norway to travel through Sweden to reach Finland
The Telegraph report said that under the NATO plan, US troops and vehicles traveling through these countries would not be restricted by local laws, so they could travel quickly. The report said France has complained about its tanks being stuck at foreign borders while trying to deploy to Romania due to bureaucratic processes.

Starting in 2023, NATO has been working on war plans for a potental future conflict with Russia for the first time since the Cold War. The alliance is planning for a possible ground war with Russia despite the obvious risk of any direct NATO-Russia clash quickly escalating into a nuclear exchange..."

It is obvious that the US and its largest ally, the EU will be much better off if Ukraine is independent and a NATO member. Russia and China are pursuing policies that are contrary to their survival as democracies and to the planet.

"THE Communist Party of Ukraine (KPU) was permanently banned today after a Lviv court ruling which turned over all its assets, including party buildings and funds, to the state.

In a statement the Eighth Administrative Appeal Court said that it had satisfied the claims of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and ordered the party’s closure.

“The activity of the Communist Party of Ukraine is prohibited; the property, funds and other assets of the party, its regional, city, district organisations, primary centres and other structural entities have been transferred to the state,” the court reported.

The KPU is the latest opposition party to be banned by the Ukrainian authorities.

A list of others including the Opposition Platform – For Life party, Left Opposition, Union of Left Forces, Socialist Party of Ukraine and other left-wing organisations have also been prohibited.

This followed a decree signed by Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky outlawing all political parties deemed to be “pro-Russian” on May 14.

No far-right or neonazi organisations have been placed under similar restrictions despite responsibility for a string of atrocities and alleged war crimes in eastern Ukraine.

Authorities have been seeking to close the KPU for more than seven years, using “decommunisation” laws banning communist symbols to block party activities, including barring it from standing in elections, and shut down its newspaper.

Today we have 500,000 troops at high readiness across all domains, significantly more than the goal that was set at the 2022 Madrid Summit,” he said on Friday.

The alliance hit its goal as its members significantly ratcheted up support for Kiev in recent weeks. The US and several other nations also recently gave a green light for Ukraine to use their weapons to strike targets inside Russia.

The Netherlands and Denmark plan to supply Kiev with F-16s in the coming months, and say the advanced aircraft could be used to bomb Russia. Stoltenberg added that he welcomes the policy shift, and said it should not be considered an escalation by Russia.

“The United States will begin episodic deployments of the long-range fires capabilities of its Multi-Domain Task Force in Germany in 2026, as part of planning for enduring stationing of these capabilities in the future,” the US and Germany said in a joint statement released amid the ongoing NATO summit in Washington.

“When fully developed, these conventional long-range fires units will include SM-6, Tomahawk, and developmental hypersonic weapons, which have significantly longer range than current land-based fires in Europe,” the statement added.

Based on the statement, the US likely plans to deploy a Typhon launcher, a covert system concealed in a 40-foot shipping container that can fire Tomahawks and SM-6 missiles. The SM-6 can hit targets up to 290 miles away, below the levels previously banned by the INF.

The US has previously deployed Typhon launchers for military exercises in the Philippines and Denmark. The announcement of a regular deployment of the missile system to Germany comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow should follow the US in developing weapons previously banned by the INF.
