I think freight companies and public transportation should be extempt from tolls to keep prices down. Like Greyhound buses and cabs are extempt from tolls.

Should they get free gas, tires, batteries, etc. as well? How else would you subsidize freight companies and so on?

also why is it that Freight companies, who's entire business is based on use of these roads...should not have to pay for the lifeblood of there business...Alot of road design is specifically done for them...Bridges are not that high, and wight limits not as high on roads for a Honda Prius...but for a 16 wheeler. Under his idea...the Prius pays for the 16 wheelers needs.

Steve, you cannot have it both ways. If you want to set up government commissions to demand that shipping costs remain low, those companies are going to require government subsidies (ie our tax dollars) to maintain operations.

Either way, you pay for it...
