"A trial in federal court, even one that is over a few grams of cannabis, generates a ton of paperwork. Today, people who endured a conviction over small amounts of marijuana are applying for one additional document for our file, a Certificate of Pardon.

President Biden made a series of welcome announcements about cannabis policy last October. One of the most widely applauded among them was his decision to provide mass pardons to those thousands of Americans with a federal conviction for marijuana possession.

I am one of those Americans."

"Delaware took a major step toward ending cannabis prohibition today when House members passed legislation (HB 2, the Delaware Marijuana Control Act) to legalize an adult-use market. The bill passed 27-13-1, a two-thirds supermajority with bipartisan support.

HB 2 easily cleared the three-fifths majority required for any proposed Delaware law that institutes a new tax, a hurdle that proved difficult in years past.

Polling from the University of Delaware has consistently shown over the past decade that a solid majority of residents favor legalization. Recent polling from Civiqs shows local support for cannabis reform as high as 70 percent.

HB 1 and HB 2 now advance to the Senate and are expected to be scheduled for committee votes in the next legislative days."

"Patients selected to undergo marijuana-specific drug screening during the labor and delivery process are disproportionately Hispanic or African American and they are also likely to be on subsidized health insurance plans, according to data published in the journal Hospital Pediatrics.

Researchers affiliated with Harvard Medical School assessed characteristics of 1,924 patients who underwent peripartum toxicology testing between 2016 and 2020 at five birthing hospitals in Massachusetts."
