"A pair of Texass professors figured out that their female students have sex and, boy, they do not like it. So now the philosophy professor and finance professor are suing for the right to punish their students who, outside of class, have abortions.

"Pregnancy is not a disease, and elective abortions are not 'health care,'" University of Texas at Austin professor Daniel Bonevac sneers in a federal court filing with professor John Hatfield. Instead, Bonevac writes, because pregnancy is the result of "voluntary and consensual sexual intercourse," students should not be allowed time off to get abortions. If the students disobey and miss class for abortion care, the filing continues, the professors should be allowed to flunk students. Additionally, Bonevac asserts that he has a right to refuse to employ a teaching assistant who has had an abortion, calling such women "criminals."

These series of legal maneuvers in Texas further flesh out what's really going on here. Nosy right-wing professors (who aren't "gettin' any") and angry ex-boyfriends are not, despite their feeble protestations to the contrary, just really into babies. For people who actually care about children, there are plenty of volunteer opportunities that aid real kids who need food to eat and opportunities to grow. Instead, the throughline is anger at women, whether students in their classrooms or ex-girlfriends who don't return their calls, for living their lives outside of the control of the men who feel entitled to dominate them."

You know nothing about investing.
There are three kinds of investor.
There are the day traders, that buy and hold stocks for a week or less, sometimes only hours.
There are traders, that buy and hold for between a month and a year, to profit from appreciation of stock and perhaps dividends.
There are owners, who buy stock and hold it for over a year.

Of these, only the day traders, and those who furgle with puts, calls, options and derivatives are actually gamblers.
The Republicans tend to cater to the whales, the huge investors and institutional investors, and they are always trying to repeal or alter the regulations. Trump is not really a stock market investor, he is more into real estate. But he is a looter and he is most certainly a liar.
Ask anyone anywhere on this planet, "Who is the biggest American liar of all time?" and the answer will be Trump.

It is true that when a Democrat is in the White House, the stock market indexes (Dow, NASDAQ and S&P 500) earn more money for their investors than when A Republican infests the White House.

An important difference between gambling as in a casino, and playing the stock market is this: In a casino, a tiny minority of players profit, one at a time. What NEVER happens is that everyone wins at the same time. In the stock market, a much larger percentage wins, and those who do, do so simultaneously.

Of course, the brokerage firms charge far less in commissions than what a casino makes in profits.
I very rarely pay commissions to the brokerage house: they make their profits on the margins between the buy and sell prices, mostly.
