I think abusive police are a major problem in this country. It is astonishing how conservatives who claim to be for small government want more laws, more police and more jails and prisons.

When 8 cops show up to a single guy with a camera peacefully and lawfully recording our government that suggests to me they can be defunded.

As a civil libertarian I believe we can eliminate, decriminalize or modify half the laws in this country. We do not need to have laws for Jaywalking. California eliminated those.

A cop should not be able to stop a vehicle for window tint, seat belts or for a turn signal violation. A ticket can be written for those only if the stop was for a more legit reason.

DUI check points are unconstitutional and no more should a cop be able to claim(lie) that he can smell a substance and use that to violate a person's rights.

There is a first amendment advocate named Jeff Grey. What he will do is stand on a street corner or at the steps of a city hall holding a simple sign that says "God bless the homeless vets."

He does not bother anybody. He never asks for money. He just says what is on that sign. He is exercising his free speech, right to assembly and religious rights in a public forum. He is constantly harassed by law enforcement and has his rights violated. His rights were violated by deplorable hateful cops in Arkansas. He was actually arrested in Daytona beach.
