73% want the government to either start over, or just stop altogether. Only 25% want to see something similar to the current proposal passed.
And they've lost the peoples' trust.
Government seen as a threat to liberty
This government has done a great job so far of uniting the people in their fear of government. Health Care reform is increasingly falling into the shadow of this much greater problem, and until some measure of trust is restored, good luck getting any substantive bill through the congress. If Nancy and Harry decide to go the reconciliation route, I wouldn't be surprised to see protests the like of which we haven't seen since the 60's and 70's.
