Recently the Secretaries of the United States Air Force and Army introduced polices aimed at turning their services green. As these policies are implemented, not only will US military operations and bases develop smaller energy footprints and make better use of renewable energy, the military will deliberately inculcate green values into its personnel--it will develop a green culture.

When tanks mpg are listed in gpm...( Gal per Mile) now it would not take a huge amount of improvement alot fuel. But to move 60-70 tons of tank, you need some major power to get it going at combat speed, uses 300 gal per 8 hours as a average, and figure in some cases if you had to say add a mine plow thats a increase of 25% more gas used ...the logistics of keeping them fueled ready to go is huge. While being green is good for earth, in this case its just plane tactical.

but it should be interesting to see what military backing on this can do to push the tech for civilian use .

PS damn work, started on this 4 hours ago, just got back and computer screwed up all the words adding half the same word to the word over and over grrr
