Taiwan is going to depend on the attack...It will help defend, but if it gets taken quick we are not going to go to war with china mainland to try to get it back. Its unlikely it will make much of a effort to take it though, and as time passes less and less people in china are going to see it as a big deal to get back...it will have bigger issues with break away parts of is mainland.
