One reason Democrats keep the slavery issue alive is because blaming Republicans for slavery has been working well for them politically among the ignorant and uneducated. Another reason leftists keep the centuries old issue of slavery ali9ve is to promote support for the Democrat party to force the US government to give every dark-skinned citizen a huge cash award for being dark-skinned, no matter how many trillions of dollars that 150-year-old gift scheme would cost the US.
