People will continue to think that they are in a recession because of oil speculation and the attendant rise in costs of everything else (like food).

I saw a study that said many people believe Bush is responsible for high gas prices. Right, Bush is responsible for Chinese and Indian economic growth, Bush created the oil cartel, Bush prohibited off-shore and alaska drilling, Bush told everyone to go out and buy SUV gas hogs. Then they've circulated rumors of "sudden" increases in oil use in China and India...sudden eh? Wow, that was quick. And convenient to explain why now they're price-fixing at the pumps..

BigOil wants us to believe it has no choice but to rob our treasury of money to steal resources from sovreign nations like Iraq, under false pretenses of WOMDs. BigOil wants us to believe it has no choice [China and India] for subsequent further price increases and gouging at the pumps..

BigOil wants us to believe that site-specific alternative energy to oil is "silly" "unworkable" and "irresponsible" so it can continue to tighten the yoke it has around our necks. BigOil throws around talk of nuclear energy to scare us back into our holding pens of dependance on fossil fuels and to lay down our "silly notions" of alternative options of getting energy to our cars and homes and factories..

BigOil is directly responsible for our recession. They are guilty of placing our nation squarely in a vulnerable position in world standing. They've ruined the dollar and now have us like sitting ducks, in pursuit of their interests alone..our military stetched thin...speaking of China...

If you or I did what BigOil has done to our nation, we'd be in Gitmo awaiting trial. Instead, their CEOs are reclining on their yachts, sipping mint juleps and planning the next "crises" to justify soaking us at the pumps..

They will go down in history as "The Men Who Sold America Out By The Barrel".

lol.... so if someone says it's a recession, then it must be so, because someone said it's a recession... the circular logic is great in liberal land.

Uh.. hello... a recession is when there is negative growth for TWO consecutive quarters. It's a mathematical equation. It's not some random label that can be slapped on whatever situation you choose to stick it too.

Fact: we have not had a single, let alone 2, negative growth quarter yet.

Further, people are always hurting a lot right now. I just varies how much the media chooses to cover it. In 2000, the media ignored the economy and almost no one knew we were in a recession for most of the year.

Funny how the facts change based on who's in power, and opinion. But of course, no one in liberal land uses logic or facts, because they'll lose. Which is why they go based on opinion and perception.

Just look at the oil issue. I asked a simple question, and not one single stinking liberal can give me a straight answer to how their plan to deal with oil prices, will actually help. Not even one came close!
