Urbanite? I lived in an Oxfordshire village of about 300 people.

Fair enough, but you can drive to London I am assuming if you wanted(or train as the Europeans love so much)

I would imagine that the average person now has a mobile phone etc.

For me, it is much more of a divide. Villages have no roads connecting them to each other. One must fly. Lots of modern technology hasnt made it out here yet. Forgive me for assuming. I invite you to come visit me anytime and we will compare one village versus another.

Yeah true. In fact, its a commuter village, with most people there living in London. England has inhabitants within three miles of the most remote places, and roads do connect everything.

Train to London, about 40 mins, bus to Oxford, about the same, so yeah, I guess I could be called an urbanite.

I can understand your sentiments on it. I guess I have a skewed sense of reality of what is rural and what is suburban. Where I live, airplane access is the only real feasible way to the outside world. In the summer one can take a boat of sorts. But it is a two week journey to Anchorage. Rather than an hour flight.
Roads are few and far between for the most part. We have roads within the town here. Just none really connecting to ther towns. Technology has been slow to get here as well. The internet is truely a 21st century occurance here. No cell phones to speak of. No need for a traffic light. It is very peaceful most of the time.

Is that why you want to drink all day, out of boredom?

Just kidding. One of my goals in life is to make it to rural Alaska, to see the wildlife and catch a few fish.

Sounds beautiful.

Hey, you stole that from Robin Williams!

RW: Don't you love it when Jehova's Witnesses show up at your door and ask, "Have you found Jesus?" And you just want to answer the door in the nude and say, "No, come on in and we'll look for him!"

Heh, I also stole his name, save for the williams part, Robin, that's me =s...I never heard that before however....Where did he say it, sounds like a standup routine.

It was during his 2002 standup tour...I saw it on the Robin Williams: Live on Broadway DVD. That's my Bible.
