Christian. Would you teach your child to use a scapegoat at school?

Most mainstream religions are homophobic and misogynous and 99 % of those I chat with are more familiar with or are into Christianity.

I do include Islam in what you see as hate and I just see as deep disappointment in stupid and immoral people. I hate to see good minds lost to Satan.

If you are a stupid and immoral person then we will never see eye to eye. If you are a moral person then we just might.

I hate to see good minds lost to Satan as well.

I guess that depends, for the most part, on your particular definitions of stupid and immoral (and how you define morality). Am I to presume that you aren't just tossing those labels out upon anyone who disagrees with you?

The morality of various issues is easy to determine in most cases.

Come. Let us reason at that link.

Well, you didn't answer my question, first of all.

I'm sorry, but nothing about that post inspires "reason." It's another inflammatory "gotcha" thread where you call people stupid and insult them and their God. I think I'll pass on this little dance. Like I said, I'll be checking in from time to time to see if you ever want to have a real conversation.

Christian. Would you teach your child to use a scapegoat at school?

If not, why do you give your child an example of you doing that immoral thing by planning to use Jesus as your scapegoat?

It is a part of your theology and personal plan to try to take advantage of God sacrificing his son, while at the same time telling your children not to do so at school and man up.

Is it moral for you to say to your child, do as I say and not as I plan to do?

In effect, that is what you Christian parents are doing and showing a corrupt double standard of morality.

Is that good parenting to you?

Care to look at the poor justice of such a policy?

Why don't you just tell us about your beliefs..

According to one Gnostic myth the shaping of the material world was the result of Sophia, who was often decribed as an emanation of eternal light, an "immaculate mirror of God's activity," and as "the spouse of the Lord." Through her desire to "know the Father", she was cast out of the Pleroma (the gnostic heaven) and her desire gave birth to the God who created the material world. Although she was eventually restored to the Pleroma, bits of her divinity remain in the material world.

The inferior God created by Sophia's desire, also referred to as the Demiurge, is the Creator God of the Old Testament. Due to his inferiority, he is not seen as good but rather an evil, angry, violent God. It is the fault of this God that the world is in the mess that it is, and due to the fact that he created it, the world is evil. The higher transcendent God is not a creator of the material world, and instead is a nurturer of the spiritual. The only hope for humankind, while locked in this evil shell of a body is to spiritually transcend this world and deny the body.

So let me get this straight.. The unknowable God was far too pure and perfect to have anything to do with the material universe which was considered evil. Therefore, God generated lesser divinities, or emanations. One of these emanations, Wisdom desired to know the unknowable God. Out of this erring desire the demiurge an evil god was formed and it was this evil god that created the universe. He along with archons kept the mortals in bondage in material matter and tried to prevent the pure spirit souls from ascending back to god after the death of the physical bodies. Since, according to the Gnostics, matter is evil, deliverance from material form was attainable only through special knowledge revealed by special Gnostic teachers. Christ was the divine redeemer who descended from the spiritual realm to reveal the knowledge necessary for this redemption. In conclusion, Gnosticism is dualistic. That is, it teaches there is a good and evil, spirit and matter, light and dark, etc. dualism in the universe.

Is that about it?

Is that about it?

Not really. You were doing well till the evil matter part.

I have two parts to my agenda. One is to show Christians just how immoral their religion is. My secondary agenda is to teach what I think of Gnostic Christianity from a modern perspective. Gnostic Christianity has evolved as a free thinking religion would and it follows more modern thinking.

I have way many more evil targets within Christianity than seekers who are looking for their God within. They think it new age when it is really old age that predates Christianity.

Hence this thread.

If you seek God, you need not try to understand even more complicated myths that you might know. All you need do is internalize it. Lend me your ears.

Gnostic Christians are perpetual seekers after God. God here I define as the best laws and rules to live life with.

We believe that those laws and rules, as Jesus said, are found in our minds/hearts. I use the following to try to illustrate this notion. A bit of history and then a mindset and method to do what I promote.

The thinking shown below is the Gnostic Christian’s goal as taught by Jesus but know that any belief can be internalized to activate your higher mind.

This method and mind set is how you become I am and brethren to Jesus, in the esoteric sense.

When you can name your God, I am, and mean yourself, you will begin to know the only God you will ever find. Becoming a God is to become more fully human and a brethren to Jesus.

Why don't you just tell us about your beliefs..

Most are not ready to think deeply enough about reality.

The modern Gnostic Christian view on evil matter is that matter is not evil. It is evolving perfection.

We never really believed matter was evil but unfortunately the language of that day used the term evil. Gnostic Christians could not believe matter was evil because we believe that we have a spark of God within our bodies, (matter), and the kingdom of God is both within us and around us as Jesus taught.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you and around you.

Gnostic Christians of that day were into duality of matter and non-matter. As above so below.

Above would have been seen as perfect while here below, at that time, Gnostic Christians did not see perfection. It was thus said that it was good above and evil below.

Modern Gnostic thinking has evolved somewhat and we now say that matter is evolving perfection. Many think this quote was not written seriously but to a Gnostic Christian it will be understandable as a truth.

Candide.
"It is demonstrable that things cannot be otherwise than as they are; for as all things have been created for some end, they must necessarily be created for the best end.”

This means that we all live in the best of all possible world and that is why modern Gnostic Christians call what we have around us, evolving perfection.

Be you a believer or not, the notion that things cannot be other than what they are and are, evolving perfection is irrefutable even though it is a fairly hard concept to grasp. This does not mean that we cannot improve as we each evolve further.

Reading this thread is giving me a headache. I don't know why I subjected myself to it. I am a Christian, but I listen to ideas and I believe there is something to learn from everybody. When you stop being logical and pick and choose parts of the Bible, and take it out of context to make a point, that's when I have to stop listening. I need one good argument to come from this thread to justify me reading it.

Werbung:
Here is my good argument. I hope you have a counter one.

Having another innocent person suffer for the wrongs you have done, --- so that you might escape responsibility for having done them, --- is immoral.

Do you agree?

If not, give your argument showing the justice in punishing the innocent instead of the guilty.
