It's unusual for a high-profile journalist like her to come out and air her personal political views in public but she may be turning into a Republican after going through a personal tragedy in Egypt and surviving dangerous places like Afghanistan where Western journalists are routinely killed or kidnapped. But the Taliban may never be defeated militarily and it was not directly responsible for the 9/11 attacks and America's job in Afghanistan is almost done after Osama bin Laden was killed and Romney may only agree with her on Libya as she said the US should pursue the perpetrators of the embassy attacks relentlessly.

I can’t stand, that there is a major lie being propagated . . .” Logan declared in her native South African accent.
The lie is that America’s military might has tamed the Taliban.

“There is this narrative coming out of Washington for the last two years,” Logan said. It is driven in part by “Taliban apologists,” who claim “they are just the poor moderate, gentler, kinder Taliban,” she added sarcastically. “It’s such nonsense!”

She made a passionate case that our government is downplaying the strength of our enemies in Afghanistan and Pakistan, as a rationale of getting us out of the longest war. We have been lulled into believing that the perils are in the past: “You’re not listening to what the people who are fighting you say about this fight. In your arrogance, you think you write the script.”

It is not every day or even every YEAR, that a CBS reporter would call out a D president.

At any rate, it is time to bring all the troops home and let the Taliban alone. We can't change them and it is none of our business any way.

Hopefully America has learned that nation building and imposing democracy on backward Islamic nations is not effective....but I fear we have not. The interventionists rule the day.
