California drilling for water? Wheres the evoinmentalist?

California already lost a lot of farmers because of the delta smelt. The central valley has dead towns now because of it.

Now, there's a plan.
That would help in more ways than one. But for legal residents there is quite a lot of real estate in the country with ample resources to relocate to.
Cities need to realize when to say no. Developers never will and taking things to critical mass or beyond is foolish.

That's going to be difficult in places where the average price of a new home is in the high hundreds of thousands with million dollar tract homes not uncommon. The pressure to develop and build is pretty strong.

And the reason why people live in such expensive neighborhoods has to do with well paying jobs.

Anyway, regarding water, most of it is consumed by agriculture, and a lot of that is in the Central Valley, not in the cities. California is growing a significant portion of the nation's groceries in a desert. No wonder water is an issue, even when there isn't a drought.
