Link: Biden’s TV interview fails to quell re-election concerns among lawmakers, donors and strategists
  • President Joe Biden did not assuage Democratic anxieties about his 2024 reelection bid against former President Donald Trump during his highly-anticipated ABC News interview.
  • Two more Democratic lawmakers, Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Il., and Rep. Angie Craig, D-Minn., called on Biden to bow out of the presidential race.
  • Quigley and Craig join a growing choir of lawmakers, strategists and donors losing faith in Biden’s ability to beat Trump in the November election.
Biden staying put is Trump's best shot.

A CBS News/YouGov poll released on Sunday indicated that 72% of registered voters believe the president does not have the mental and cognitive health to serve as president - a sharp increase from the 65% who said the same in an earlier poll.

To a lesser extent, Trump is tainted by the same stigma. Any Dem not pushing 80 has an automatic leg up that Brandon can never achieve. Sadly for the Dems, it seems that Kamala is their only real alternative - and she's the only national Dem who polls worse than Brandon.
