It would be wise to go back and look at what the Founding Fathers intended to do when they set up a confrontational government--based on the tenets of human nature--and see why compromise--tortured compromise--has proven to be the most effective form of government. Monarchy is the easiest--ask the King--get an answer.
over the past 20 years or so not really but we can hope for better in the future. the donkeys have taken a hard turn in that direction, that alone calls for a correction from the elephants. perhaps it only has the effect of narrowing the gap between the two but that wouldn't hurt
sadly people like "free stuff" and having their votes bought and pais for so breaking the socialist cycle is a tough nut to crack.
