I don’t know that I am fully accurate but in my mind one of the difference between a communist and socialist is religion



Communists try to squash all religion while socialist (though might not be all that religious themselves) don’t take your religion away from you.



I don’t even know how accurate that is; it’s just what I think of when I try to distinguish a difference.

Have you any notion of what you are talking about? Socialism is political control by the vast working majority, and communism the time when humanity has forgotten social class altogether. It has nothing to do, child, with the State - current governments, as you know, are the central committees of the local capitalist class. Talk sense!
