What Copenhagen Summit Tells Us?

The Copenhagen Summit was hold from December 7th to 18th in Denmark, for 193 countries to discuss global climate issue and most importantly, to reach a consensus on how to protect the environment by doing their parts when developing. Disappointedly, only a consensus without legal restraint was made by five countries—US, China, India, Brazil and South Africa, which is to say that no actual commitment was made world widely.

Is it that people on the planet don’t care about their living environment? Yes, to some degree, when they are considering profits from ruining the environment, at least in the short term. I heard a story comparing the situation into another one, which I find interesting and profound in describing the reality--

The industrialists in the US who have lots of money to lose by curbing their CO2 emmissions lobby politicians and scientists to say that climate change is not a problem.

These industrialists are invariably right wing and the supporters of right wing politics are invariably very stupid and they will swallow any old garbage if it props up their nazi views.
