I don't believe the government does not have a bargaining tool to use to force pharmaceutical companies to lower their prices. I believe the US government regularly subsidizes the companies, providing them with just such a bargaining tool.

Exactly that is the problem.

In Europe there are laws in place that the companies have to negotiate a price with a government agency. That way, the taxpayer doesnt have to pay a dime for the drugs and the drugs are cheap.

I don't like the type of governments they have in Europe where the government tends to have more control over businesses and citizens than we have been accustomed to in God Bless America.
