LONDON: Captain Wales is coming home to be Prince Harry once again.

The ministry of defense revealed on Monday that the 28-year-old prince is returning from a 20-week deployment in Afghanistan, where he served as an Apache helicopter pilot with the Army Air Corps. It did not immediately divulge his exact whereabouts.

In interviews conducted in Afghanistan, the third in line to the British throne described feeling boredom, frustration and satisfaction during a tour that saw him kill Taliban fighters on missions in support of ground troops. He also spoke of his struggle to balance his job as an army officer with his royal role — and his relief at the chance to be "one of the guys."

He should get knighted by the queen for this. Call him Sir Harry

Why is the bugger called 'Captain Wales'? He's some sort of German with a name as long as a gorilla's arm. Why should we be lumbered with these posturing foreigners?

Prince Harry is called Wales because his father is Prince of Wales. He is not very bright. Boasting of how many enemy you killed is not wise for any ex soldier. In particular for a prince. When Kennedy talk about killing Castro it led to his own assassination

Prince Harry has been allowed to serve in combat roles in Afghanistan and he can enjoy more freedom than his elder brother but Prince Williams has to content with his current job as a rescue helicopter pilot because of his status as the heir to the throne whose life cannot be jeopardised in any way.

That is not the way titles work. His name is Windsor. Is he ashamed of it?

Lolo2, Windsor is not really the family name of the royal family. It was adopted during WW1 because it was originally German. The present royal family came from Germany to ensure a non Catholic monarch.

I am doing some work on the the Bay of Pigs. Howard James points out that there were 8 assassination attempts on Castro. While the motives of Kennedy killer Oswald is vague there does appear a Cuban connection.

I know - most Germans here changed their names, and that was legal. 'Wales' admittedly is a foreign word for 'foreign land', but that's not the point. The family name NOW is Windsor.
