Hard work and effort pay off.

Earned principal's honor roll (4.0 or better). And had to work for it.
President of Key Club, NHS, Beta Club, among other service organizations.
Had art in the countywide exhibit (as happens every year) and to the "best of the best" this year.
Earned upper class Student of the Y.ear distinction from the faculty.
    Earned Principal's Award.
    Earned a PTA scholarship.
Earned a number of academic awards of distinction.
And today at graduation, earned the Superintendent's Award.

Not bad for an average kid willing to push themselves even when it was painful.
    Going above and beyond pays.
This kid has learned that nothing is out of reach.

I could not be more proud if I tried.

Congratulations! I am sure that your hard work had something to do with this too.

    thanks Doc.

the missus and I tried to keep the noggin screwed on right, set expectations (massively exceeded) and give all the support possible. you know, be parents. but the kid gets the credit. we can only do so much, the teachers can only do so much, the kid has to turn potential to success.

    Congrats!

My eldest has a similar resume. He is now 24 and working for a great company and making a good salary. He just returned from Italy where he attended and presented at a company conference.

It is a great relief when a child can support him/herself comfortably and no longer is dependent on their parents.

    Not only proud, but relieved.

huge fan. turned me onto them as well. hated "Satellite" and never bothered paying attention to them after that. phenomenally talented guys. we went to the sat show as we have a tradition of going together (sort of our father's day thing this year). Carter Beaufort had a house a neighborhood over from us and Butch Taylor (keyboards) lives nearby as well.

kid's next Dave Dream is to catch them at The Gorge in Washington state.

I'm more of a "Dont Drink the Water" guy but many favorites to choose from.

Nothing is more impressive than successful children.
No job on Earth is harder than raising them--nothing.
When parents send one out into the world with good habits and good morals--what a triumph it is.
Everyone who has done this--deserves our greatest honor, for a job well done.

That is a very good point.

It has been a bad year for me economically thanks to BO & friends, but thanks for reminding me that I can take pride in successfully raising a very successful, law abiding, God fearing, conservative son.

God has blessed me and my gorgeous gun toting wife.

Not only a triumph--but a great gift to your country and it's future.
