All that is true. But sadly they are simply staying home on election night. What is going to change that dynamic? if the tyranny of the last few years did not motivate them, and perhaps was the demotivator, then why will the tyranny of the next couple of years motivate them?

People who sympathize or identify with the Tea Party don't stay home. There is a group out there, mostly religious, that aren't even registered to vote. Some people didn't vote last time because Romney was a Mormon. Some people didn't vote because they thought Romney was a RINO. There are all kinds of reasons why people don't vote. Now I'm hearing people say if Christie is the primary winner, they won't vote.

There is no one reason. The Democrats seem to have a more cohesive party than the Republicans do. The Republicans are all over the spectrum and there is no pleasing all of them. So they shoot themselves in the foot.

Now there are also other reasons. Take the recent race in MI. The Dems actually ran a Libertarian to drain votes away from the Republican, and it worked. If the Libertarian hadn't been in the race, there is a good chance that the Republican would have won.

In 2008, there were a lot of Dems that changed parties, just so they could vote in the Republican primary to affect who that winner was.
 
The few teaparty zealots party people may vote but the other conservatively leaning ones may or may not BECAUSE the zealots over play the wedge matters and turn people off. No point arguing turnout problems, thats fact. Had the teaparty stuck with its focus then there is nothing to turn hard right moderate right middle of the road and moderate lefties. Thats 60 % or more.

Are you calculating in all the TEA Party organizations that were denied 501 (c) 3's who were unable to collect funds?

That was criminal as we know but it makes no differwnce to the point. Collecting money is "party" activity. We have gotten lazy and complacient believing that money = win instead of ralizing votes = win.

Yes I saw what happened here and teaparty funding made no difference. The difference was firstly single females for whom this was a single issue race and secondary was amnesty also a single issue matter for foriegn nstionals. No amount of money counters that and as cuccinelli dis absolutly nothing to address these, he lost. Focus of the facts and not the distractions.
