No Labels movement launches in N.Y., pledges to fight partisanship

NEW YORK - A coalition of Democrats, Republicans and independents came together at Columbia University on Monday to launch a group aimed at taming the nation's hyperpartisan politics.

At a time when partisan BS dominates US politics and the two major parties seem to be more interested in furthering the interests of their respective parties than those of the nation, a movement to counter hyperpartisanship is welcome.

"We're going to call ourselves the radical center, the people who care about results, not rhetoric," said former congressman Tom Davis, a moderate Republican from Virginia.

The radical center, more concerned with results than rhetoric is exactly what is needed just now.

yeah sure:rolleyes:

This is just another effort by libs to hide their true beliefs. So they can continue lying to people like you and you will still believe.

Just like BO did during the campaign. Would you have voted for him knowing what you know now? He tried to hide his true beliefs during the campaign and you got taken. Hahahahahahaha

The group hopes to build a network of citizen activists and establish offices in all 435 congressional districts. Beginning in January, members plan to police the new Congress, calling out lawmakers they think are too partisan and speaking up for those who cross party lines to find solutions. The group says it will not advocate specific policy positions, but will aim to foster a more civil discourse in Washington.

A more civil discourse and crossing of party lines is exactly what Washington needs right now.

And the formation of another PAC to monitor "partisanship", as defined by that PAC, is going to accomplish this? Forgive me for being skeptical.

Probably not, but at least they're starting to talk about why the ideological divide is not a good thing.

Its not a good thing. Really?

Do you think it right to compromise on say slavery, womens rights, property rights, individual rights, constitutional rights, etc?

Yes maybe some things are worth compromising, but many things are not. What you may be willing to compromise others may not.

This is the usual games and tricks of the leftwing. :D Their first game was to call the Tea Party "angry", as if emotion were all they had. They expected everyone would forget about leftwingers screeching at the top of their lungs with hysterical tirades for eight years while Bush was in office.

Now, after two years of the worst hyper-partisanship in US political history, (with obozo saying "elections have consequences" - Translation: we won the whole federal government, and if you don't like it go screw yourselves) they try this scam which is intended to marginalize the conservatives who want to roll back some of the disasters the leftwingers have inflicted on the country. The only ones stupid enough to be fooled by this are the lowest level obamabots, and they count less and less as time goes by. :D

Thanks for the examples of hyperpartisanship. That is exactly the kind of thing that needs to be eliminated.

Leftwing extremists only want to eliminate partisanship when they are getting their own asses kicked politically, like now. Clear as day, and not fooling anyone. :D

Oh but you are wrong about that. They are fooling many. The OP poster is a perfect example.

Whenever the left is losing they cry about partisanship and the nasty tone in DC. When they are winning with their commie policies, all is good.

Yet, the useful idiots are unable to see this hypocrisy and call those you do hypocrites. Its crazy, but so typical of the left.
