There was no insurrection on Jan 6. There was a big protests and some property damage. The reason for the word "insurrection" is being used and the reason for the faux show-trial hearings is to block Republicans from running in elections. Its as simple as that.

"Insurrection" is just another misnomer used by Democrats to manipulate public opinion.

It is not only bad grammar, it defies credulity. How exactly is this "take control of" the country accomplished? For that to happen, the military and the Supreme Court and the governors of the states and the White House and the FBI and the CIA and the NSA and all other agencies and law enforcement agencies would have to bow down to a group of guys who entered the Capitol. Because unless that happens, no overthrow is even possible, let alone intended.

That is the insanity of such a statement. The only way to see the capitol protest as a threat is to assume that the military and the Supreme Court and the governors of the states and the White House and the FBI and the CIA and the NSA, etc. etc. are all going to start obeying them.

But of course,, they are not.

America is not some banana Republic were you can occupy the palace of Il Presidente and rule the country. A physical overthrow of America is not even possible. Thats why all the crying about it being the worst day ever is not believable.

There was no way they were going to overthrow the government of the United States. It was a riot. It was a dangerous riot. It should have never happened, and it should never happen again, but people should not be misled to think that the protestors were on the verge of overthrowing the government.

The entire thing was a mostly peaceful protest that some of the protesters got out of hand and a riot broke out the capitol police was aware of the size of the Croud but never prepped for it and this also contributed to the riot getting out of hand . I have seen no evidence of a trump connections or a plan to over throw the government .

their entire goal was to STOP THE STEAL, inother words, keep trump in power by stopping the electoral count, thus keeping trump in power illegally instead of lawfully elected biden, effectively the plan was prevent biden from taking over. that's an insurrection.

And it wasn't even a riot until something incited the protesters to riot.

I defy anyone to show an incitement other than the Capitol Police use of Flash Bang grenades on the protesters.
