Here in the Netherlands the same law on healthcare came into effect in 1941 following several other healthcare laws dating from the late 1800's and on.
70 years has passed since and I think my country did pretty well.
Despite what allot of republicans might think, we haven't become a nazi/communist/socialist state, not by a long shot and certainly not by passing a law that makes healthcare insurance affordable to all people.

In rich society's like yours and mine its very obvious everyone should have access to affordable healthcare, a six year old can understand that.
This isn't socialism! It's civilization!

For whomever it may concern:
U where talking about human rights in China? Well here are human rights for u. Right in the middle of the US of A. Signed in this Tuesday.
Your president stood up for it's people. Be proud.

I can't imagine all the Reps here suddenly have seen the light.
Somebody please burn down my thread:rolleyes:

They must not have seen it yet.

Of course, we must believe that universal health care is tantamount to becoming a Communist state, this despite the fact that every civilized nation on Earth has it, and that every one of them pays less than we do for it.

Amen.

Thank you for this prayer and therefore letting me know I am right.
If u count out the impossible only the possible remains...

Try again any time.

Thank you so much for your input. It's unfortunate that so many Americans have quit trying to learn how other countries do things.

You must be a troll. Health care went so well in the Netherlands that the country almost went broke, and in 2006 you had to require more private insurers, and the costs went up. Then too, you had to create a "risk" criteria which governed the costs. Add to that the fact that the government does not administer the program; you have no "gestapo" IRS constantly checking tax returns to insure that people are paying the right fees; etc., and you should be able to see that what the Dims passed is not the same as what you have, or had.

Thought you said you were a Conservative? How come it is that I have never seen you support a Conservative position?

Most of the other countries, Britain, France, Greece, Japan, for certain, are going bankrupt over their healthcare programs. And their survival rates are not near as good as the USA.

The left refuse to learn from examples of failure elsewhere. They think Obama has a magic jellybean and a beanstalk of money is going to thrust out of the ground and we will be saved.

We claimed our independence from England and now we are trying to be just like them.
CRAZY!!!!!!

I don't care what system you are content to put up with. Freedom is not giving most of the fruits of your government and expecting them to take care of you.

European nations have tradition of being conquered and subjugated. Americans stand for freedom.

Giving the fruits of our government? Does the government grow fruit now?

That sounds like socialized farming to me
