A woman who wrote a book about white privilege, which was used as a textbook at Georgia Southern University, gave a lecture at GSU and after the Q&A session some students there decided to burn copies of the book. Here's a linky for ya:

I'm not a big fan of book burnings but in this case I can at least understand it. The coverage of this story, from all sides IMO, is missing the main question which is why did this happen?

Well, in the first place the latino innuendo is spurious. Its the subject matter they dispute.
I would have preferred that they just give her back her book as opposed to risking fire damage.
