Not only is he a skinny socialist, he is also very thin skinned....and delusion like most lefties...and now he is throwing a pity party...

Not surprisingly, Obama's thin skin leads to self pity. As Daniel Halper of The Weekly Standard pointed out, in a fundraising event for Sen. Barbara Boxer, Obama said,

Let's face it: this has been the toughest year and a half since any year and a half since the 1930s.

Really, now? Worse than the period surrounding December 7, 1941 and September 11, 2001? Worse than what Gerald Ford faced after the resignation of Richard Nixon and Watergate, which constituted the worse constitutional scandal in our history and tore the country apart? Worse than what Ronald Reagan faced after Jimmy Carter (when interest rates were 22 percent, inflation was more than 13 percent, and Reagan faced something entirely new under the sun, "stagflation")? Worse than 1968, when Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. were assassinated and there was rioting in our streets? Worse than what LBJ faced during Vietnam -- a war which eventually claimed more than 58,000 lives? Worse than what John Kennedy faced in the Bay of Pigs and in the Cuban Missile Crisis, when we and the Soviet Union edged up to the brink of nuclear war? Worse than what Franklin Roosevelt faced on the eve of the Normandy invasion? Worse than what Bush faced in Iraq in 2006, when that nation was on the edge of civil war, or when the financial system collapsed in the last months of his presidency? Worse than what Truman faced in defeating imperial Japan, in reconstructing post-war Europe, and in responding to North Korea's invasion of South Korea?

funny idea...put the quote in context once.....

How was it mean't then? I heard the sound bite on an AP radio news break. I have read a couple different articles about it at this point. Is there more to the quote? What is being left out? I'm not trying to stir the pot at all with these questions, rather I am trying to find out. This is something that I haven't been able to find much on, but what I have found (at sources that are typically Obama friendly) only list's the quote as it was quoted above. Anyone have any other information that they could pass on and that can be proven? I don't want a theory!

It is quite apparent what he meant. It is well known that BO is arrogant and very egotistical. Of course, he thinks his short tenure as pres is the toughest since the 30's. Just proves how arrogant he is.

Imagine if the press attacked him like they did W. He would have had a nervous breakdown by now.

After watching, and reading the comment. I agree there is only one way that the comment could have been intended. Now to P Bo's defense he has never claimed to be a historian. Being the fine liberal that he is he probably only studied Roosevelt, Kennedy and Carter. Plus what ever history he learned William Ayers and Rev. Wright.

do you guys need to be spoon feed thoughts to have logic? LIke I don't know...maybe he was talking about the ECON? not everything all at once?

But no of course you can't show the context...that may actually hurt your little rant...Or is it to much to ask you actually know what your talking about when you rant?...never mind i think I already know on that one

Well thank you for that pockets.

He was talking about the economy in your view...

Okay then, is the economy he inherited and now owns as bad as...

I'm sorry if you watch the whole thing, there is no way that you can say that he was referring to the economy only. There is no "rant" taking place and if anyone was going on a "rant" I would think that it would be you. I simply stated that you can't deny what was meant by the comment, and suggested that perhaps history wasn't his biggest strength. (with a little sarcasm throw in.) Defending him to the end on everything is ridiculous. He does seem to be a little tender and he does seem to think that he has the toughest job any President has ever faced......which he does not. Even he is referring to the economy alone. As far as my thoughts go, if you read my first post I was asking for feed back, because I had not be able to look anything up for myself. However, after doing so it was pretty clear.
