When I was a wee lad, I visited my grandparents in Vernon, Texas. They told me to go outside and play, so I dug some holes in the back yard and I found seashells, a LOT of seashells.

I showed them to the adults and they told me that Vernon and the rest of the Texas Panhandle was once the floor of an ocean.
