Cyberbullying

I completely understood what was being said. Not only am I a fully functional adult with a good grasp of English, Information Technology is my field of expertise.
Did I say anything about your English? Nor did I say your IT information was wrong, in any way. I was referring to the fact that someone asked how they couldn't just block it to stop it. I was explaining the LESS technical side, and more of the child psychological side of it. Which is MY field of expertise.

I don't think you guys entirely understand what they were trying to say. They are saying you can block "friends" on social medias so they don't contact you, and even emails have spam filters which you can set, or you can even make a new email account. However, I think personally when you're young, it's almost embarrassing. You usually blame yourself and want the person(s) bullying you to actually like you, so instead of blocking, you just deal with it, hoping you can change it.
I personally think to fix it we really need to make sure children know they can come to adults. That they won't get blamed for these things happening to them. But how can we do that, when we, as adults, can't stop doing it ourselves? We blame rape victims for the clothing they wear, or abused women for not doing whatever it is the abuser wanted, or domestic violence victims for not leaving immediately. How can our children come to us, judgement free, if we can't do that ourselves?

Someone who wants to be liked by a bully cannot be helped. All you can do is shut out and perhaps punish the bully. It would be like saying FDR wouldn't fight Hitler, cause secretly he wanted Hitler to like him.

However, I do see where your coming from. Kids want to be accepted, so they fall into patterns of servanthood to abusive popular kids.

Cyber bullying does need to be talked about more than what it is, and it seems as though it's still classed as not as bad as physical bullying you can find in the playground when that's not the case at all.

Cyber bullying does needs to be talked about more, only then will the people affected realise that it is abuse and not something they have to deal with alone.

I still can't see how people can cyber-bully, considering that the bad Facebook friends can be removed and harassing emails can be blocked. Perhaps cyber-bullying involves some kind of mental disorder in which certain people subconsciously desire torture and victim-hood. Anyhow, after Facebook friends have been blocked it's still possible for fallout from the bullying to cause social problems outside of the computer world. However, then again, could it be possible that a bullied person was asking for the situation by running his/her mouth?

I think you would find that it's more about how it bleeds over into real life that causes the distress.
If you are suseptical to bullying it doesn't matter the form.

There is a lot of focus on the parents, the schools, certain websites, or friends of people who have been bullied (or the perpetrators.) I think responsibility gets deflected at every turn. Children need to learn respect for others and for themselves, and they need to learn that it is not okay to hurt other children.

Bullies sometimes don't even realize that they are bullying as they consider it acceptable and normal. This is one of the issues I have, because I was bullied and unless you have experienced it you can't truly know how it feels.

Cyberbullying isn't as straightforward as blocking people on social media as they will find ways to get around this. Deleting or deactivating accounts is the only way, but then it forces someone not to use a platform because of fear which is wrong.

I consider some posts on forums to be written by bullies, so one should consider what they write and how they express it.

Anyhow, cyber-bullying is becoming a common way for young people to bully these days.

Cyber bullying can be fixed so easily, these companies that write the code for these social networks can easily develop a solution. Being a programmer myself, there is nothing that you can't do online.

We are talking about cyber bullying, if you don't want some one to call you phone you can block the number, if you don't want some one to harass you, you can get a restraining order, if you don't want someone to bully you online, then you have to deal with it.

I know they can make changes, they just choose not to regulate. Cyber bullying is apart of not only American culture, but international culture. People don't want it to change.

Cyber bullying isn't only about children though, adults can get it especially if there are jealous exes involved or people that have nothing better to do with their time. Twitter is cracking down on things and on Facebook it's hard to get something reported.

My friend's ex set up a page with her address saying it was a place to visit for a good time, and it took me ages to help her get it taken down.

It is popular as the bully does not need to see the person face-to-face.
There has been news reports of people taking their lives due to this.
If you are a bully - not only are you pathetic for doing it...you are also a worm for not doing in to the face of the person.
I remember the days when bullies got their faces punched. ;)
