There are a couple of threads ongoing about how climate change issues. If so many people, especially among the Democrats, are concerned about the long term effects of global warming, then why haven't they mounted a full scale campaign to start building more nuclear power plants? Nuclear power is cheap, it produces no CO2, and we don't give money to terrorist supporting regimes by using it. So why hasn't the USA opened a single nuclear power plant since 1996? With no other carbon neutral power production schemes ready for the market in the near future, why isn't this our number one energy priority?
