What an idiotic comment!  And  China has NEVER had anything that could be called a democratic government. Most of the Chinese people are fine with the government so long as it continues to cause the economy to grow. Christianity has rarely been attractive to the people of China. 

There was the Taiping rebellion against the Manchu Dynasty in the 1850's, largely among Hakka (not Mandaran) speakers. The leader was a guy who said he was Jesus' brother. Odds are he wasn't.

Since that, Christianity has never really caught on in China. It has become a big deal in S. Korea, though.
