Another Obama takeover!

The govt already owns banks and care companies.

Obama needs to read the constitution and try to comprehend the words in it.
Maybe he needs remedial reading courses.

Maybe the education he received in public schools didn't teach him how to read and comprehend.

I read about that too. I dont know why he wants to control everything.
Government sucks, it wont be long at this rate before the government will decide if you can get a loan and what kind of schooling you can get it for.

If they feel they already have too many of something they might not loan out for that... even if its what you wanted to be.

I think this is very dangerous, I dont know how anyone can disagree with the idea its dangerous for the government to have so much control over us, the suposed free people

Liberals love the idea. That's what they are all about. I say they can give up their freedoms and go and get brainwashed if they want to.
Give up all their paycheck to the govt if they want to.

Just leave us normal, freedom loving people the hell alone!

According to a CBO estimate, the proposal would save the government $87 billion over 10 years.

The government’s savings estimates have also come into question. In a July 27 letter to Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), the Congressional Budget Office admitted that its original figure of $87 billion in savings over 10 years did not include an estimate of losses the government would incur from defaults. When that risk was added in, the estimated savings dropped to $47 billion.
Even with the worst case scenario the government is saving $47b. Even a nightmare scenario still saves tens of billions of dollars. Why is the right objecting to this? You would rather subsidize private industry who is still going to spend billions on marketing and expensive advertising all the while still raking in billions in profits at your expense as a tax payer? How does that jive in your eyes?

Im just pointing out the obvious in that overall, it will ultimatly save tens of billions in tax dollars and or ultimately debt. At the same time putting millions of Americans to higher education and training. Im searching for a real solid reason this is a bad thing. Anybody?

Before anyone wants to start suggesting that this is unconsitutional really should hire a lawyer or even better go to law school and start challenging some of the laws and programs you have deemed unconsitutional. I dont think it a coincidence that this will likely go unchallenged in a realistic legal manner.

Federal Government saves money! Students get more access to college and training!

Much like a group of 'HOWLER MONKEYS'...they Howl that President Obama isn't doing enough {according to their specific hyped up need to do mental list} and then when the elected officials do organize to take on an issue and pass that information up the chain of command and the president steps out and makes an announcement...that announcement {regardless of how it will; save money/help some percentage of Americans/get the recovery going} the HOWLER MONKEYS set up a screeching sound that will brake glass!

And for what purpose; well the monkeys do things really well in tight groups, they feed off of each other and that highly energized/overly reactive since of FEAR just keeps feeding off of itself;)

Government being the only place you can go to get a student loan is a bad idea no matter how much it saves the government.

Actually, you've got that kinda' backwards... the banks OWN the government, not the other way around.

And for those of you who think that Bush made the only bailouts to the banks, you're way, way, WAY missing the details of the stuff that goes on in Washington that they don't publish in the mainstream media. No, the Fed and the big banks have the country over a barrel and it's CONgress that's allowed them to have more power and perform more fraud than presidents, past and present. This goes back several decades and has only gotten worse as time has worn on. Obama promised us "Hope & Change" but he and his administration are still not stopping the looting or prosecuting the truly guilty. It'd help, of course, if they weren't "on the dole" and complicit in the crime.

I know, I know... you hear all of this big talk about punishing the banks, but that's ultimately just to throw you off track for what's really going on. I can post graphs and cite references (like the current proposed changes to Rule 2a-7 of the SEC) and give real-world examples (e.g. Argentina), and so many of y'all either bog down in the details (it's not an easy jigsaw puzzle to put together) or default to "he's a right-winged nutjob" because you're blindly following the idea that the group of elected Democrats (the richest party per capita, even when adjusted for representative percentage) is "looking out for the little guy". It'd be laughable if it weren't so sad.

Even if you assume that this estimate is accurate (and when have they ever been ?) you miss the point that it is unconstitutional.

The government is only doing this for control. It's obvious. As Pandora pointed out, they will be choosing which fields get the most money.
Picking winners and losers.

Saving money is not cause enough to give away our freedoms and liberties. It's not cause enough to put an industry out of business. How many of those companies that handle the loans will end up going out of busines? How any more jobs lost?
