Tim Walz confronts ‘stolen valor’ allegations at his first solo campaign stop

Thomas Behrends, a retired command sergeant major of the Minnesota National Guard who served with Mr. Walz, said the 9/11 speech is part of a pattern of stolen valor.

Walz served 24 years in the National Guard, four years longer than he had an obligation to serve, and did everything that was required of him. There is no Stolen Valor. I condemn his false claims that he fought in Vietnam. I condemn Brian Williams' lies about his alleged battlefield experiences that did not happen. I condemned Hillary's false claim that she dodged enemy bullets in Bosnia. Democrats have a long history of telling self-serving shameless lies.

Haters are despicable. I volunteered for the US Army to go to Vietnam. I did not try to avoid Vietnam but I was not sent there by the Army who told me where I would be going and where I would not be going. I had to go where they sent me whether I liked it or not.

I volunteered for the Army and the Army accepted me. I volunteered for jump school and the Army Jump School accepted me. I applied to go to USMA Prep School and was accepted. When I (much later) decided to withdraw from the opportunity to go to West Point the USMAPS staff reluctantly accepted my resignation.

Vietnam was clearly a lost cause from the very start. I failed a physical exam out of high school and avoided Vietnam totally. If I had found it necessary to do so, I would have fled to Canada or Sweden. My country was not endangered in any way by North Vietnam. I beat the draft and proudly so. I am sorry so many people died in that useless and unwinnable cause.

No one won in Juniorbush's invasion of Iraq. It resulted in half of the people of Iraq being forced out of their homes and supplied weapons to the Syrian Civil War which is still in progress. Millions of innocent people died in Iraq and Syria, more than Saddam could ever have killed.

Vietnam and both Iraq wars were caused by stupid decisions by the CIA and politicians that knew better.MacNamara knew Vietnam was unwinnable, so did LBJ, that is why he decided not to run again for president.

Vance served no purpose by being in Iraq. He was not defending our country, his service was useless. Walz served 24 years and retired so he could run for office. Good for him!
