Over the weekend, we came four votes away from the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations. In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

The Statement of Purpose from the bill read:

To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo.

Not surprisingly, 45 Socialist Democrats and one Independent Senator voted against this bill to protect your Constitutional Rights and prevent the US from being ruled by the UN. These Senators were clearly willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.

These Senators are also clearly traitors to the very Constitution they sworn under oath to protect. Do note that no Senators from Texas, Oklahoma, or Arkansas voted against this bill.

Here are the 46 senators that voted to give your rights to the U.N.

Baldwin (D-WI)
Baucus (D-MT)
Bennet (D-CO)

^ Many would argue that the Senators listed above were simply exercizing their best judgment when voting as they did. They'd tell us that everyone is entitled to an opinion. They'd insist that we not seek to punish legislators for their opinions. Such statements, however, are based on very flawed logic!

When a Senator's judgment leads him/her to vote in opposition to his/her oath of office, the Senator should be removed from office. Pretending that our Constitution is a "fluid" document that's open to virtually any interpretation is criminal in my opinion.

I agree 100% .....

I am not too quick to say that politicians should be prosecuted for their opinions, however, as you stated, "when they vote in opposition to his/her oath of office" that is criminal, they should be removed and charged accordingly!

Accountability should be for all ....

Including our politicians who believe they are above the LAW!

Those politicians may very well have wanted the UN to assume the role that our gov does and to limit our rights. But unfortunately, merely voting against the bill is not strong enough evidence that they wanted the UN to do so. In the world of politics it is very possible that they simply wanted a different approach to the problem. Maybe they were in favor of the intent of the bill but opposed to some other intent not mentioned here.

Sorry Dr. Who ....

I posted the statement of purpose for the bill above as well as a link to the bill.

The statement of purpose clearly states "to uphold Second Amendment rights". No Congressional member should have voted against this in any way. The Oath they have all are sworn upon when they took office clearly states:

"and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Last time I checked, the 2nd Amendment was still part of the Constitution of the US. And, voting against a bill that upholds the Constitution and prevents the giving away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power, clearly reveals these anti-American, anti-Constitutional socialist's agenda.

I see no gray area here whatsoever. Voting against the bill damn sure is strong enough evidence that they wanted the UN to do so.

Any clear violation of the Oath of Office should result in the politician being removed and charged with treason or a high crime.

But, you know as well as I do that this administration does not honor the Constitution, does not protect the Constitution and in fact is constantly looking for ways around the Constitution as well as constantly violating the US Constitution with absolutely zero accountability for doing so.

Voting against this bill is just the latest clear example of an out of control government that no longer fears the boundaries of the US Constitution or any accountability for violating it.

For some reason I'm surprised by Reid. He voted against the gun registration bill.

Reid is merely playing politics with his constituents. He is one of the worst anti-American socialist up there.

Of course he would vote against a bill that prevents turning the sovereignty of America over to the UN.

For some reason I'm surprised by Reid. He voted against the gun registration bill.

he voted against the cloture for the other gun bill also. this is normal. if a bill is failing thr majority leader votes against as a procedural thing related to bringing it back. read a bit about this some years ago.

They will answer to this in the Midterm elections. The Tea party will vote them right out of office.
