Republicans are sounding the warning call about "socialism". They just hate it. They know all aspects of it are harmful to our American way of life. They're pleading for us to act now to stop this harmful trend. But maybe they're just stupid, or more likely just "IT'S ALL ABOUT ME" hypocrites.

The perils of socialism are explained, simply for the benefit of Republicans, in only two minutes and sixteen seconds.

Nice video. People have this image of themselves as self-reliant. In truth, none of us have ever been self-reliant. If you think you are, let me see any of you tell me how you would smelt your own iron, from scratch, and make a needle, using no materials taken from our civilization.

Wow...interesting video...the problem is in definition. The primary challenge with the concept of Socialism is that for it to work someone, or some group, must dictate what is right and wrong for the masses. This seldom leads to anything good.

Many of the Social Programs in the video have failed at one time or another because of the dictatorial or fascist leadership that must come with it. Take police brutality in NYC, Chicago, LA and the entire deep south in the 50's, 60's and 70's. Many inner city and rural public school systems have failed, only graduating 50%, because of their desire to homogenize the students to learn the "right" way. Finally, Social Security has been a one of the worst run programs in history and is closing in on insolvency.

Enough about the failures of Social Programs. The only reason we have survived these challenges is the desire of Americans to improve their lives and provide more for their children. I believe that is what people are voicing their concern about.

My ancestors worked hard to get here, survive here, and provide opportunity for future generations. All we're asking is in th effort to give a helping hand to some, let's not kill the motivation of others to aspire to something greater.
