The myth of the Far Left

The Rightists on this board keep referring to the Far Leftists. Rest your minds. There is no such thing in the US. Since 1964, the Right Wing in the US has steadily moved further and further to the Right. This gives these Rightists the illusion that the rest of the US has become more Leftist. Nothing could be more wrong. The Left has compromisted and moved to the Right to accomodate this shift in the Rightists POV. In truth, there is not and never has been much of a true Left Wing in the US.

If you think not, I would ask you to do a search on the internet for what used to be called Marxist or New Left forums, and take a look at what people on those forums are discussing on those forums. You will find few people who talk in those terms in the general public.

After yoiu have refresehed your POV with a dose of reality as what real Leftism is, then maybe you will view your Democratic rivals a bit more kindly. Or maybe not.

The Left simply went from being Revolutionary Socialists to Evolutionary Socialists, i.e., Progressives.

Progressives have been in both political parties for a century and steadily moved the nation Left with every Progressive administration.
