With 82% of the precincts counted, Brown (R) is ahead of Coakley (D), 52% to 47%... and Coakley has called Brown and given her concession.

That should take care of National Socialist Medicine, and hopefully Cap & Tax.

Thank God.

Now, will Obama, Reid, and Pelosi keep hammering away, trying to pass uber-National-Socialist legislation, and so trash the Democrat party for the next election? If they do, might Republicans gain majorities in the House and Senate in November.

Republicans had better get their acts together FAST, and present a good national platform of reducing SPENDING, reducing taxes, and reducing regulation. That first one is quite different from what they did in the 2000's, though they're good for the other two.

If they don't get their acts together, then there won't be much point in being a member of the Republican party.

Ball's in your court, Republicans.

The Republicans are paralyzed with fear right now... Democrats are committing political suicide pushing a radical leftist agenda, Republicans have regained favor simply by trying to block an unpopular agenda... not by pushing their own agenda (they actually have proposed their own agenda but nobody seems to know about it).

If Republicans misread the mood of the country (I don't underestimate their ability to find their own cliff to wander off) and attempt to implement their own Progressive agenda (Bush I, Bush II, McCain) then they will get just enough power to shoot themselves in the foot.

Some republicans are going to find the cliff. Some of them are still saying we need to move more left if we are going to make it.

Agreed! We need to focus now on developing strong CaLiCo candidates for the primaries coming up, and use this victory tonight as impetus. A battle has been won tonight, but the war still lies before us. And we must demand better.

Yeah, they're tripping over each other to be the first one over the edge.

If Republicans were capable of promoting and defending Capitalism (as they once were), they would crush the Democrats in every election.

As it stands, Republicans push Collectivism, a mixed economy, and Democrat Lite policies, so while they contrast with Democrats on a select few issues (none of which are of particular importance in the big picture) there's really not much difference between the two parties... Whether we elect the slow train or the bullet express, the destination is the same.
