Many of them are sent to salt mines as shocking as that sounds. Apparently the general public is numb to the problem as the prejudice probably comes from the people. What role do you think culture plays in evil?

Although 50 island farm owners and regional job brokers were indicted, national police say no local police or officials will face punishment, despite multiple interviews showing some knew about the slaves and even stopped escape attempts. Soon after the national investigation, activists and police found another 63 unpaid or underpaid workers on the islands, three-quarters of whom were mentally disabled.

It's hard confirm the validity of the AP report but Korean brokers in the sex industry used to kidnap innocent girls to work as comfort women in the 1940s, posing as police officers. Korea has come a long way towards becoming a developed country economically but some parts of Korean society remain underdeveloped. Korea's sex industry accounts for as much as 4 percent of South Korea's annual gross domestic product and Mafia mobsters may be involved in both industries, who can evade law enforcement efforts.

Well, if someone is late to work everyday then that's a choice. However, being disabled is not one. The Koreans are harsh on people for things they have no control over, hence that's why it's evil. Also, it's a pride issue as nobody likes to view themselves as ugly and inferior, and of course, they're not.
