When Scalia died, mcConnell stopped Obama from appointing a replacement for 12 months. He said the election was close. When Ruth Bader died he fast tracked her replacement just prior to trumps re election. How convenient.
The repubs were determined to gorge a suptemrm court in its image. Five of the six current judges were appointed by who lost the national popular vote.Repubs have won the popular vote once since 1988. They have appointed 16 of the last 20 justices.
This the court which is radically reshaping American society in keeping with it originality world view. Laws are being drafted according to a 250 year old document.
The cancellation of Roe was basically in accordance with the constitution which didn't recognise women as equal or recognise their rights by the founding fathers.
This week we have seen the obvious results. Guns are in the the constitution so they are in. Abortion is not so its out.
This is the modern day authoritarian Supreme court now they have a 6 to 3 majority. The 6 are all godbotherers.
This reset of power goes back many years when Reagan realised the power of the evangelists, Catholics and baptists who inheritable support them. That is true today as it was then.
Trump played their tune and grandstanded in front of a church and they loved it. They lined up to back him but it failed. Its the same rabid mob who are screaming fraud and that failed too.
The point is, the SC is now a branch of the republican party. Any legislation they want it will be passed. Is that what a SC is for? The whole theatre of it is a scam.
If Trump were to be re elected, I'll bet London to a brick, he will find enough lies to have democrats censured from any place in congress. Bit over the top you think? The j6 riots was his first attempt and he barely got there. Even if it meant murdering members of his own party.
