as shown by the fact that any criticism of Trump , any criticism at all, is labeled TDS. That's putting aside how the "derangement syndrome" pejorative can't be applied in Trump's case , because Trump is deranged himself. Reverse TDS operates in various forms. In some cases, it's with MAGA republicans , themselves, bringing up Trump, in order to complain that liberals bring him up too much. Or , even, starting talk site threads about Trump for the expressed purpose of complaining that liberals start too many threads about Trump . More frequently , however, it presents as a cult-like devotion to all things Trump. Whereby, Trump himself is elevated to the status of a deity who literally can do no wrong. Literally.
False equivalency are the tactic du jour in this endeavor. Whereby, everything Trump does is compared to things others have done that bare no rational similarities . Or, in some instances, where the similarities are comparable, Trump is excused for his behavior, where others - meaning anyone else - is condemned for their behavior. In point of fact, the list of reverse TDS examples is exhaustive.
It should , however, be noted that for all the excessive , lavish, cult-like devotion Trump demands and receives, none of it is reciprocated. Trump only cares about himself and he'll throw even the most devoted supporter under the bus upon the slightest perceived slight - real or imagined.
Just ask Mike Pence
