I view this issue from the inside. I taught in the public schools for 38 years, and yet, never heard of the "rethinking schools" organization. I never saw, used, or even heard of their math materials. We had a math book that we were supposed to cover, with only so much classroom time to do it. Bringing in something else was out of the question. Now, if adding fractions, doing long division, identifying types of triangles, and learning the difference between variables and constants is "liberal indoctrination", then I suppose we were indoctrinating them.
