Now do you see why its so absurd when Democrats claim the Republican party is the party of the Rich?

Now do you see why its so absurd when Democrats claim Republicans want tax cuts for the wealthy?

If your brain isn't full, try absorbing this information:

Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism by Arthur C. Brooks

-- Although liberal families' incomes average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household ($1,600 per year vs. $1,227).

-- Conservatives also donate more time and give more blood.

-- Residents of the states that voted for John Kerry in 2004 gave smaller percentages of their incomes to charity than did residents of states that voted for George Bush.

-- Bush carried 24 of the 25 states where charitable giving was above average.

-- In the 10 reddest states, in which Bush got more than 60 percent majorities, the average percentage of personal income donated to charity was 3.5. Residents of the bluest states, which gave Bush less than 40 percent, donated just 1.9 percent.

-- People who reject the idea that "government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality" give an average of four times more than people who accept that proposition.

"If liberals persist in their antipathy to religion," Mr. Brooks writes, "the Democrats will become not only the party of secularism, but also the party of uncharity."

Here endeth the lesson.

Somehow you missed the point, the point being that liberalism is dominant in areas where people feel that income should replace charity, and adopt politcal stances that allow more people to make decent incomes. As a result, Liberal states support the the Conservative states with their tax dollars, and receive only calumny in return.

Somehow you missed the point.... We don't see Government as one big "charity". We also understand its unconstitutional to use the tax code as a Marxist "redistribution of wealth" program.

Notice that the most liberal of states, with the highest taxes, like New York and California... are also flat broke states with massive deficits and debt. You can't blame the Red states for this, because that's entirely a state tax revenue issue and not federal transference issue.

Also, Conservatives aren't the ones begging for new government handout programs... We want the welfare state to go away. Conservatives aren't the ones always begging for new and ever increasing taxation, we want less taxation and an end to all subsidies.

So while federal tax dollars of Blue states go to the Red states, you're not supporting Conservatives with that money....

Wow... That was excellent. It's not often you see a liberal post so completely and totally smacked down, conclusively within 2 replies.

Kudos GenSeneca! :D

The highest states are liberal states, with the sole exception of Wyoming, the lowest states are the most conservative states. Doesn't that make a loud and clear political statement?
No doubt, it's a matter of that evil education-thing; the bane of Dead-O-Heads, nationwide.

"Arthur C. Brooks is an American social scientist and musician. He is the President of the American Enterprise Institute.

AEI emerged as one of the leading architects of the second Bush administration's public policy.

Among the prominent former government officials now affiliated with AEI are former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, now an AEI senior fellow; former United States Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, now an AEI visiting scholar; former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton, now an AEI senior fellow; and former chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities (and wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney) Lynne Cheney, a longtime AEI senior fellow."

Here endeth the lesson.

Yeah.....truely-magical.

Not-to-worry. My lesson-ending kill-shot put the original-post outta-it's-misery.

Then Conservatives prefer to be poorer and live in a state with low taxes than to be be more affluent and live in a state with high taxes? And they prefer policies that make this state of affairs take place? You're kidding me, right?

There are conservatives in every state. I am in Oregon and thats about as liberal as they get.

You think all republican and conservatives are rich fat cats. There are conservatives and republicans who are rich fat cats but there are some of the poorest of the poor who are conservatives and republicans too.

red states also cry about how much they give the the feds,,,,and then they take back more then they give...but that never bothers them

Maybe they have politicians smart enough to get back more than they put in.

And since the blue states believe in redistribution having their money redistributed to red states should make them happy.

But there is a fatal flaw (well two) in the whole thought process at the beginning of this.

One is that blue states have higher income than red states. A handful of very wealthy people in NY and California bring up the average for the whole state. And we all know that hollywood types live in, yep, NY and Hollywood.

The second flaw is the assumption that the politics caused the wealth. there is just no evidence at all that being of a certain political persuasion causes one to become wealthy. It is just as likely that being wealthy causes one to have a certain political persuasion or that a third factor causes people to be wealthy (like say the influence of hollywood) or leftists (like say hollywood).
