Here is yet, another poll, showing that Americans do not want Obama's vision of centrally controlled health care.

So why doesn't congress get the picture?

They need to stop trying for a complete over haul, and concentrate on .

You Porky Limbaugh fans make it tooooooooooooooooooo easy.....
"Rasmussen's poll includes only "likely voters" which excludes more lower incomes individuals and Democrats who support the public option but may not vote. The CBS poll is a telephone survey of all citizens not just "likely voters" which will naturally increase the amount of people who support the public option."
Better get a "second-opinion" from the Prime, Grade-A Porker!!!!

"The New York Times/CBS poll released on September 24th, shows that two-thirds of Americans support a public optionhttp://www.examiner.com/x-17297-Roc...ricans-support-a-public-option-on-health-care on health care.

The poll was based on telephone interviews conducted across the United States from September 19th through September 23rd.

The results are similar to the New York Times/CBS poll conducted from June 12 to 16. That poll found that 72 percent of Americans supported a government-administered health insurance plan."
"Among all the players in the health care debate, doctors may be the least understood about where they stand on some of the key issues around changing the health care system. Now, a new survey finds some surprising results: A large majority of doctors say there should be a public option.http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=112818960"

Because many Congressmen share Obama's vision of government running everything, providing everything, being everything. It's their ideal, which they now believe they are in a position to achieve.

Not in representing their constituents.

In a cross sample poll of Americans... Independents, Democrats and Republicans the New York Times / CBS Poll revealed....

"Americans overwhelmingly support substantial changes to the health care system and are strongly behind one of the most contentious proposals Congress is considering, a government-run insurance plan to compete with private insurers, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll."

All respondents: 72% favor / 20% oppose / 7% no opinion
Independents: 73% favor / 23% oppose / 4% no opinion
Democrats: 87% favor / 9% oppose / 4% no opinion
Republicans: 53% favor / 39% oppose / 11% no opinion

Since this "latest poll" was taken in June, the information in it does not refute in any way more recent polls. Considering that this was taken prior to ANY information hitting the public in general, the questions and answers represent mostly basic concepts. Many of those, even, had been largely framed by what the media to date had chosen to convey.

It is nice that the poll represents such a nicely balanced cross section of Americans. It's too bad that it does nothing support your position, but does magnify the fact that the more people find out about what Washington, in this case PBO and his Demo Posse, have in mind about health care reform, the less they like it.

June 2009. Are you serious.
That is a very old poll. How about something a little bit more relevant
