MAJOR GARRETT: In ten years, the healthcare tab could be 4.4 trillion dollars and 20 percent of GDP. And the President says there's a more immediate problem and it sounds alarming.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every 30seconds.

GARRETT: But the White House could not provide a statistic to back this up. They pointed to a 2005 Washington Post column written by Harvard scholar Elizabeth Warren. In it, she said, quote: "Every 30 seconds in the United States, someone files for bankruptcy in the aftermath of a serious health problem.” Serious health problem, not as the President said, the ordinary cost of health care. But Warren's data comes from a survey of bankruptcies in 2001, and it says 2.2 million Americans are “affected by bankruptcy,” not filed for, but are “affected by.” What's more, a Treasury Department survey in 2000, found medical costs were quote, “not a major factor” unquote in bankruptcies filed that year. A senior White House economist could not back up the President's bankruptcy every 30 seconds assertion.

From Fox News, the only source to ever fact check the Obama-bot media.

Funny, how he cites documented evidence, whereas Obama-bots just assume Bailout Barack can't possibly be wrong.

Faux News?....are you joking?

Yes! I'm rubbing Fox News right in your face. Not only can you not defend Obama's statements, but you also can't deny Fox News reporting. The only reporter anywhere that actually asked for a source for Obama's bogus numbers.

I love driving liberal idiots nuts. Go on and squeal about how you can't trust Fox News! I'll just laugh and laugh! :D

Nothing about Obama lying surprises me. He's been doing it solidly, since he started campagining, and probably before that.

He should just get on T.V. and look the people in the eye (and not the teleprompter) and say.

I want socialism for the country and you all can't stop me.

At least he would show some conviction and not need the teleprompter.

IMO Obama is a waste of oxygen

National Health Care in the US would be another hugh problem.
The current system is better and should be preserved.
The best solution will be to avoid changes there until
the US gets an economy back.

Note the US economy won't come back under Obama.
It can't and it won't.

"Democrats in the US House of Representatives on Friday rolled out their first draft of a vast plan to reform healthcare coverage.

The proposals would allow Americans to choose between business and government-backed healthcare insurance, a bid to provide coverage for the estimated 46 million people currently uninsured -- around 15 percent of the population.

According to House Democrats their proposals would cover 95 percent of population.

Democrats said they would now work with the Congressional Budget Office to calculate just how much the plan would cost US taxpayers.

Initial estimates put the 10-year cost at one billion dollars, a price many Republican lawmakers have balked at.

They have also criticized the government expanded role in the sector, which they claim impinges on the private sector."
Yeah...."impinges"; i.e. competes-with!!!

.....And, how could we possibly afford $100M per YEAR??!!!!

Are those people at WorkingAmerican.org also using miss Cleo? After all, they are claiming that national healthcare will save money and work out just fine... They must be psychics.

If saying it will not work based on every other failing and failed model the world over is to you a psychic prediction, then saying it will work based on nothing more than hope and conjecture must surely be the work of Super-Psychics.

"Initial estimates put the 10-year cost at one billion dollars..."

ROTFLMAO! Hey Shaman, you should post that miss Cleo pick with the "estimates" that the Democrats put out about their own programs!

The CBO projected the DemoProg plan at a cost of 1 trillion and that would still leave 39 million uninsured...

<Yaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn...>

"Following the release of the Congressional Budget Office's June 14 preliminary analysis of the Senate health committee's draft health-care reform bill, Fox News' Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, New York Times columnist David Brooks, and USA Today cited or otherwise referred to the CBO's conclusion that the draft bill would cost $1 trillion while leaving "about 36 or 37 million" people uninsured. However, like ABC's Jake Tapper and The New York Times, these media did so without noting, as stressed by CBO Director Douglas W. Elmendorf in a letter accompanying the CBO report, that "those figures do not represent a formal or complete cost estimate for the draft legislation".

"The draft legislation ... indicates that the committee is considering whether to incorporate other features, including a 'public health insurance option' and requirements for 'shared responsibility' by employers. Depending on their details, such provisions could ... have substantial effects on our analysis."
