I hate that Liberal Fox News.

They sold their soul long ago. The claims that Fox is Right Wing are absurd, they are full on commercialism. Their only "agenda" is to sell stuff, namely advertising, and they do a great job of pulling in consumers. Before you disagree, recognize that Oreilly and the gang of other pundits are NOT the NEWS people.

The "lib" media is all doom and gloom 24/7 but Fox has the market cornered on optimism. Watch CNN for a week straight and you'll think we're all going to hell in a handbasket - and bush stole the basket, just like the 2000 election, and lied about it, just like something else. Watch Fox for a week straight and you're heads so filled with "buy this product so people will like you, and, feel good about yourself for no particular reason" that you don't want to go back to feeling like the end is nigh.

I don't know if a study has been done that looks at how much one consumes in relation to what news they watch, but I'd be interested to see any results.

Seriously, think about this for any network; take out the people "reporting", take out the commercials, take out all the stuff but their sources and you get something like: AP or Reuters.

All the networks basically get the same story and quotes but its what they do with the presentation that makes the difference. Sometimes its what they decide to report on that reveals their bias.

For instance, Fox will take the doom and gloom stuff they have to report and surround it with feel good fluff - to blunt the impact. CNN will take the doom and gloom stuff, run teasers of it constantly: "Not watching this show can kill you or someone you love", then surround it by more doom and gloom and toss in a light at the end of the tunnel story somewhere along the way.

A hypothetical example: Bomb in Iraq kills 24 people

Fox: Heres a bunny with a pancake on his head... Isn't the bunny cute tom? Yes, thats one cute bunny shiela. Its too bad those 24 people who died when a bomb exploded in Baghdad will never get to see it. Yah tom, but lets not dwell on it.. Oh look, the bunny is scrunching his nose. (Both) Awww.

CNN: I'm sorry to have to report this tonight... You just don't understand how awful America is so I'm going to pound it into your head till you get it. The world is full of suffering and poverty while America is filled with corruption and decadence. American's are cruel, heartless people that torture, imprison and kill indiscriminately - like the bomb that went off in Iraq today killing 24 people - But on the bright side, We will see "Change" in November so stay tuned for updates.
