"This outsize $ucce$$ has placed Mr. Ailes, an aggressive former Republican political strategist, at the pinnacle of power in three corridors of American life: business, media and politics. In addition to being the best-paid person in the News Corporation last year, he is the most successful news executive of the last 10 years, and his network exerts a strong influence on the fractured conservative movement."

Yeah....that's Left-Wing alright.

I am somewhat confused by your statement here...

Why does it matter what someone makes at Fox News, and more importantly, how does looking at the salary of one guy who works at Fox News mean that the media is not left-wing?

Bias in the media can be up for debate, but looking at one guy in one company and then claiming the media is not "left-wing" simply does not make any sense. That would be like looking at a columnist in the NYT and then making the claim that the media is "left-wing." Neither argument will fly.

I wouldn't consider an aggressive former-Republican-political-strategist (insisting-upon a news-show's direction) very Left-Wing.

I also would not consider one news station a very representative sample of the "media" either. Citing this example and then somehow attempting to claim that the media is perhaps not "left-wing" simply does not make any sense.

If you want to make that case, you have to do a far more broad evaluation of multiple media outlets.
