'Swift Boat' Veteran Who Defended Kerry Stripped of Silver Star

A Vietnam veteran who defended Sen. John Kerry against "Swift Boat" attacks in the 2004 presidential race has been stripped of his Silver Star by the Navy -- more than a year after he was sentenced to prison on a child pornography charge.
But the Silver Star wasn't stripped from Wade Sanders because of the child porn conviction, per se.
Military officials told Fox News the medal was revoked in 2010 after Navy investigators looked into his record and found administrative errors surrounding how the award was created. Sources said Sanders was responsible for those administrative errors and may have lied.

I am glad I got to read about another of his supporters who stood up for him also had "fishy" circumstances regarding his metals.

It is an old story and you are right, really who cares that one of the people who stood up for him saying he was telling the truth about Vietnam was caught lying about something to do with Vietnam. It's not like john frakin kerry will ever run for president again or anything. But the story is still interesting to me all these years later.

And, no, I wasn't offended, and didn't feel attacked by YOUR post, and I certainly didn't mean to sound offensive or aggressive towards you. For the few posts I've read from you, you seem quite balanced and fair for a Republican. . .

I guess I should have linked my former post to Gipper's post. . .not yours. I was just surprise that ANYONE could find that old information (if it is even true!) "interesting" in anyway, especially when we are facing REAL issues in this country.

Yes, it was directed to the post of mine you replied to. The link was interesting to me and it was about john frakin kerry (who served in Vietnam) and how this guy stood up for him during the kerry/Bush election.

I have not talked about the debt ceiling limit or destroying obama and as far as I read Gipper's post he didn't talk about the debt limit or destroying obama either, but I could have missed that part of his post.

Do you have a link to something that says the stripping had to do with the porn issue? This article said the stripping of the silver star did not have anything to do with the porn issue but instead the story not adding up on how he earned the S Star. If another reporter is claiming something else, I would like to read it.

once again..."apparently not true" based on what? you don't know anything about what happened I would bet..let alone if they are or not true...with no evidence presented...all you have is a statement that says "may" and you take it as ..."did"

Also I never said a bad thing about Petraeus, nor did most people I know...But i am sure you can find someone that did, big deal..I am talking about what you say and what you do..and what I say and do...I don't rip any Military people or question there medals...more so if they served in combat. you say right wing and left wing military...funny as I don't know who in the military is right or left..I don't pay attention...

If you served...and you get a medal...Unless that medal is shown 100% to be wrong or fake...you earned it..and it should not be held in question simply because they are not on the same side of politics as you are. And those medals should be questioned even less by someone who never served a day in a combat zone.
